i'm into tevas

I know- they are awkward and kind of ugly and I am pretty sure I almost lost my job because when I debuted them at work my outfit was a total fail and my boss didn't look me in the eyes all day. But, they have a bit of a Yoji/ Rick vibe, are super comfortable and are the only sandals I have worn in NY that keep my feet from getting icky. Remember when Kate (Moss, duh) wore Wellingtons and short shots at the Glastonbury Music Festival in 2008? She pretty much, single-handedly, revived the old school rain boot brand. I have a hunch Tevas could have a similar moment this summer- maybe at Outside Lands in August, and will then be all over the music festival circuit and quirky/cute girls' feet in summer 2012.

smell me

Smell is a weird word and a sensational sense. I am addicted to wearing MMM's Untitled. I would also wear CDG's Avignon- but my boss wears it and that would be weird. I am addicted to burning Dyptyque's Feu De Bois and just gave my buddy CDGxMonocle One: Hinoki as a houswarming/birthday gift but wish I had kept it for my self.

The Apfel of my eye

The amazing Iris Apfel is launching a jewelry line with HSN. Sweet. Just read this. Not so sweet.

like

I dig. Maybe because I am still searching high and low for Converse Stars and Bars that I have loved ever since my BFF in grade 4 Casey B. got them on a trip to Florida. Image via Convent. Racked.com tells me they are having a massive blow out sale in June- I could wait to see if these get marked down to 80% off, or if I just get over them.

I will always love you.

Step off my Seko dress up Tuxedo

John got a new gold hat. He looks like a Beastie Boy when he wears it. Also, monochromatic outfits are going to be huge.

printed tulle, printed + laser cut neoprene with a touch of spray paint and eau de burnt hair

Olivier Theyskens and Aimee Mullins (both super-powerhouses of inspiration) at the 2011 Met Ball honoring the work of Alexander McQueen. Unfortunately, this image does not do justice to the pure magic that was her dress (and his tie). Photo via style.com.

nice kilt

At the Tartan Day Parade, I photographed this guy 2 minutes before the incredible Mr. Bill Cunnigham showed up on his blue bike and photographed him as well.

Mir: Mr. Cunnigham, you've got a great eye!
Bill: Thanks kid.

If you haven't already, go see this.
