dark side of the moon
Loving black diamond eternity bands. Lots and lots of them. Partially inspired by my Nana's ever evolving and always impressive mixed and matched rings, and by a Daphne Guinness talk I attended at FIT- I want some finger armour, STAT. Turns out you can score some cool looking black beauties at Overstock.com. Who knew?

uptown girl
Went to the Met and Madison Ave. yesterday. There is an amazing exhibit on Indian Master painters and on Goddess in Indian art (India, I'm coming...). Also really enjoyed the portrait of "Cher", the Honeycomb and everything about the lady in the long black duster, acid jeans, biker boots and blonde braided hair's outfit and attitude.

he said I'm fabulously rich
Maybe it is classic Fall-time nostalgia syndrome, or the weird/nervous feeling I get around Halloween, or maybe its just one of my many cyclical phases, but I am extremely appreciating The Tragically Hip right now. Memories of summer camp, making out, smashing pumpkins at Forest Hill Junior School, smoking a joint for the very first time, Massey Hall, driving the roads of northern Ontario, fresh bread at Tree planting (nothing tastes better), the smell of the "mountain" in Montreal- all dancing through my pork-pie( its really kind of a strange day) clad head.

These boots are from a place called FREE BIRD- but it doesn't seam to exist anymore. Where did you go, Free Bird boots?? Images via coolhunting.com circa 2009. Hmph.

do the rockaway
Got my ass up at 5am this morning to go to Rockaway beach for some surfing (fine, attempted surfing). Vice/Nike is sponsoring an open house full of treats to help promote Nike 6.0 (in a low key, not overly branded way) for the next two weeks. Passenger and gear vans leave the city around 5:40 am and return around 9:00 am everyday- early, but worth it for some pre-work fun in the sun and surf (cute drivers also help ease the early morning pain). The house is hosted by the adorable Falcone brothers, Rockaway locals and expert surfers whose interests include horticulture, photography, furniture building and shaping boards.

not-converse
Trying to break the converse cycle. Andre Assous cowboy shoes spotted by John and Zach at one of the homeless vendors on 6th Avenue who hangs out in front of Urban Outfitters that sells stuff he probably found in the trash. Levis Jean shorts, best-tank-ever from India or Peru and Theyskens' Theory blouse that makes me feel kind of ethereal/angelic when it billows in the wind. Having a narcissist week, whatever.

party pants
How awesome is the light in my office in the morning? I love these metallic linen pants- bought them ages ago from LILITH (google just told me they are having a massive sale) and always get muchos compliments. I love the seam below the knee and I love how linen wrinkles and crinkles as the day goes on. Also, the only shoes I can bring myself to wear are converse- white or black depending on what I'm wearing. Currently, all other shoes make me feel awkward.
