or, you can go to hoboken for 1.75$

John and I went on an impromptu adventure to Hoboken last night. Hoboken is great. Its 20 minutes away, the air smells delicious, the view of the city is amazing, and although parts of it can be a little cheesy the side streets are gorgeous- like the west village but with out all the people. After strolling around for a while we stumbled into Cafe Michelina- a perfect little family owned and operated Italian restaurant. We started with a caesar salad with homemade dressing, John had fettuccini alfredo , I had penne arrabiata with homemade fresh mozzarella, and we finished with a homemade tiramisu. The food is fantastic, the portions are huge, the service kicks ass (special thanks to Jessica our adorable server and the chef's daughter) and its BYOB. Take that Tartine.

  1. Was the caesar overdressed? Did you finish your penne? I bet not. I question whether the mozarella was in fact homemade. Where do they keep the cows in such a small restaurant? Either way, a riveting post. Riveting.
